Learning Something New

I first learned how to ski when I was really young. I was never an exceptionally good skier. Last year, I tried to pick it back up and I was horrible. My whole family was really good and I really wanted to be good. I recently tried it again this year. I am much better than I was last year. Now, I am actually a pretty decent skier. There are still so many things that I do not know and am trying to learn. I would like to learn how to go off a small jump soon. Lately, I have learned to absolutely love skiing. I wish I could go all of the time. Although, I do think that it would be really fun to be able to go off a few different jumps. I am not about to try anything too intense, but something small would suffice. Hopefully, I will have the opportunity to go skiing some time soon to try to learn how to go off a jump, but it may need to snow a little bit more first. I feel like skiing is my time to have some fun on the weekends because I am always so busy during the week.

Sounds like fun, Dom! And once you take on those small jumps, move up to the huge ones! I'll even volunteer to carry your books around if you break a bone, just kidding. How exciting, though!

I have never been a skier so I respect the fact that you are going that far as to become a better one! I have always been a snowboarder and understand how stressfull it is to become better because you find yourself doing the same things that make you comfortable, but unfortunately they never make you improve. I always found myself improving when I went with people a little better than me so I had to take a chance. I'm sure you'll do great with a goal already in mind!

THis sounds like fun. Too bad your ability to ski depends so much on the weather. Good luck with the big jumps.

Sounds fun! When I was younger I went skiing all the time with my family in Tahoe; we even have a cabin up there. But since then I haven't been up on slopes for a very long time. If I were to go up on the slopes again it would definitely be a BIG learning experience all over again...but with more fear!
